Our Vision

We’re on a mission to make mealtimes healthier for dogs and cats everywhere — not by charging veterinary prices, but by making genuinely superior nutrition accessible to every pet owner in the UK.

We believe that honest science, real ingredients, and transparent labelling should be the standard — not the premium. That’s the foundation everything we do is built on. From our very first recipe to the doors of our first physical shop, every decision we make starts with one question: what’s genuinely best for the dog?

Our Story

Ultimate Pet Foods was born from a frustration shared by thousands of UK dog owners: the choice between overpriced prescription diets and nutritionally poor supermarket kibble. We set out to build something in between — food that performs like a vet diet, tastes great, and doesn’t require a vet visit to buy.

Starting from Wales, we’ve grown from a single grain-free range into a full portfolio covering every life stage, every breed size, and every health need — from sensitive digestion to joint care, skin and coat health to weight management. Every recipe is made with freshly prepared ingredients, cooked gently at 82°C to preserve the nutrients your dog actually needs.

Our Ranges

Ultimate Grain Free — 13 recipes across every life stage. Freshly prepared meat or fish, sweet potato instead of grains, balanced and complete for everyday feeding.

Ultimate Superfood65 — 12 recipes incorporating 6 superfoods in every bowl. Higher protein than our standard range, with freshly prepared meat or fish at the core.

Wilderness80 — 3 recipes with 80% total animal ingredients — one of the highest meat content dry dog foods in the UK. Every recipe contains a minimum of 50% freshly prepared meat, with joint support (glucosamine, MSM & chondroitin), prebiotics, and a botanical herb blend including ginseng, bilberry, and green tea extract. Available in three multi-protein recipes: Duck, Pork, Turkey & Beef; Chicken, Turkey, White Fish & Salmon; and Salmon, Herring, Haddock & Trout.

Ultimate Plus — Our hydrolysed range. Science-led, vet-approved formulas for dogs with sensitivities — Digestive Care, Skin & Coat, Weight & Joint, Dental Care, and Healthy Living. No prescription needed.

Ultimate Cat — Hydrolysed recipes for every life stage of your cat’s journey — Digestive Care, Urinary Health, and Skin, Coat & Hairball Control.

January 2026 Launch of Ultimate Plus — The UK’s First Non-Prescription Hydrolysed Dog Food Range
A landmark moment for us. We launched Ultimate Plus — the first hydrolysed dog food range in the UK available without the need for a vet prescription. Using 100% hydrolysed freshly prepared protein, we brought clinical-grade nutrition to everyday dog owners for the first time. The launch included three health-targeted recipes:
March 2026 Launch of Ted — Our AI Dog Food Expert
Ted launched online as our AI-powered dog food matching tool, helping owners find the perfect recipe for their dog’s breed, age, size, and health needs in minutes. Answer a few simple questions and Ted builds a personalised recommendation — including a custom sample box to try before you commit.

April 2026 Ultimate Plus Expanded — Two New Recipes Added
We grew the Ultimate Plus range with two further specialist formulas, giving even more dogs access to non-prescription hydrolysed nutrition:

  • Dental Care — specific kibble density and targeted ingredients to support oral hygiene and reduce plaque build-up
  • Hypoallergenic Healthy Living — a balanced everyday hydrolysed formula for overall wellness, allergy prevention, and long-term health maintenance
May 2026 Launch of Ultimate Cat — Our Hydrolysed Cat Range
We extended our hydrolysed expertise to cats, launching three targeted recipes under the Ultimate Cat range:

  • Digestive Care — gentle hydrolysed nutrition for cats with sensitive stomachs
  • Urinary Health — specifically formulated to support urinary tract health and reduce the risk of blockages
  • Skin, Coat & Hairball Control — targeted nutrition for a healthy coat and natural hairball reduction

Doggy Day Fest Caerphilly
Our first major public event. We met hundreds of local dog owners, gave out free samples, and brought the Ultimate Pet Foods community together for a day of fun, walks, and expert nutrition advice. The first of many events to come.
June 2026 Launch of Wilderness80 — Our High-Meat 80/20 Range
We launched Wilderness80 — three grain-free recipes built around 80% total animal ingredients, with a minimum of 50% freshly prepared meat in every bag. One of the highest meat content dry dog foods available in the UK. Each recipe includes built-in joint support (glucosamine, MSM & chondroitin), prebiotics MOS & FOS, and a botanical herb blend. Available in three multi-protein recipes: Duck, Pork, Turkey & Beef; Chicken, Turkey, White Fish & Salmon; and Salmon, Herring, Haddock & Trout.

Launch of the Keeping Dogs Home Programme
Our initiative to support rescue centres, rehoming organisations, and new dog owners — helping dogs settle into their new homes through the right nutrition and dietary support. Because the right food at the right time can make all the difference.
July 2026 🏪 Opening of Our First Physical Shop — Ffos Caerffili
Our biggest milestone yet. We’re opening the doors to our first bricks-and-mortar home in Ffos Caerffili — and it’s far more than a shop. Here’s everything you’ll find when you visit:
